Stargazers / Look skyward right after sunset tonight for the Draconid meteor shower

Look up just after sunset, as soon as it gets really dark, to see as many as ten shooting stars per hour. You’ll be viewing the Draconid meteor shower, which occurs when Earth passes through the stream of debris from Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner. The shower is so-named because the meteors shoot from the radiance of  Draco the dragon constellation.

Extreme Enduro / Racers from around the State compete in Mossman

This weekend, Townsville Enduro Club Inc. hosted the fiercest off-road endurance motorcycle race in FNQ.
103 riders gathered from all over the State, battling it out on a challenging track built by local rider Jason Dwyer and crew on the outskirts of Mossman at Tara Hills Rd.

“Green” economic recovery / New Reef Assist environmental projects underway
