❝To improve government performance you need more revenue which means a fairer, more efficient tax system….Resources, carbon emissions, and consumption should be taxed more. The concessions should be revised on superannuation, negative gearing, capital gains, dividend imputation and fossil fuels. Property taxes should move to annual land taxes to replace stamp duty and transport tax should move from fuel and registration to road use (when, where and how far you travel). Payroll tax should be axed, replaced by higher taxes elsewhere…❞

Reef targets in the Murray and Mossman River Catchments get Huge Cash Investment

A new $5.6 million project for the Mossman and Tully regions will see Terrain NRM and Mossman Agricultural Services work with Mossman cane farmers, through agricultural extension officers and agribusiness providers, to identify factors that are restricting the uptake of fertiliser by cane plants. These measures will improve the quality of water flowing to the Great Barrier Reef while also improving yield.
