This project is helping to reduce threats to rainforest species and ecological communities by improving priority areas through revegetation, weed management and habitat protection, and by finding solutions to cassowary deaths and injuries on roads. Terrain is working with community groups, traditional owners and government organisations on the project. This project is supported by Terrain NRM, through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program.

Newell Beach boat ramp will soon be an all-tide boating facility following the awarding of the $2.36 million construction contract to Queensland company Australian Marine and Civil.

Douglas Shire Council has endorsed three-year Resource and Performance Agreements for the Reef-to-Reef and Triple-R Mountain bike event, Wonderland Spiegeltent and the Mossman Show.
Across the three events, Council’s investment totals $225,000, with a further $120,000 worth of in-kind support over three years.
