- Regarding the recommendation that that Council approves the development application for a Combined Application for Dwelling Houses and Reconfiguring a Lot (2 Lots into 4 Lots) over land described as Lot 2 on RP724386 & Lot 516 on PTD2094, subject to an extensive list of requirements and conditions. Item moved by Cr Noli, seconded by Peter McKeown. Cr Noli supports the recommendation noting that this is an example that shows progress can continue when Council and the applicant work together rigorously to satisfy the confines of Council’s development frameworks such as the Planning Scheme. The recommendation is carried unanimously.
- Regarding Councillor Roy Zammataro’s Notice of Motion that Council rescinds the motion from the 26 July 2022 Ordinary Meeting to “Replace the existing Daintree Ferry, with a single ferry capable of four lanes of road vehicles and dual road vehicle loading capability and associated landside infrastructure upgrades on both riverbanks”. And that Council invite Expressions of Interest from private enterprise to own and operate the Daintree River Ferry. Meeting Chair Mayor Kerr advised Cr Zammataro’s notice of motion be carried to next meeting as legal advice suggested the rescinding motion could not be put on the table for today’s meeting.
